 2008

• EM LYON is now EMLYON Business School
• Launch of the new MSc in Luxury Management and Marketing  in Geneva

 2007

• Official launch of EMLYON in Geneva 
• Launch of the EMLYON Campus in Shanghai, in partnership with East China Normal University
• 1st Rhône-Alpes Enterprise Week, dedicated to bringing regional companies and EMLYON students closer together. 
• Launch of the new programme for international managers: AMP: China-Europe Advanced Management Programme
• Launch of the new “Entrepreneurs in the City” programme: an ambitious project for the promotion and support of business creation by young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods, in partnership with the “Sports dans la ville” (Sports in the City) association. 

 2006

• Launch of two new international programmes:
  European Master in Management, the first European Master's degree, awarded by flagship institutions in Europe: Aston Business School (Birmingham – UK), LMU (Munich – Germany) and EM LYON Grande Ecole.
  PhD in Management, the EMLYON PhD taught exclusively in English, with the aim of training future teachers/researchers.
• Launch of the Regional Partnership Charter: as the School wants to strengthen the special relationship that EMLYON has with the region's companies, it implemented a partnership charter specifically designed on the basis of mutual commitment.
• Launch of the new Specialised Master's Degree in partnership with Ecole Centrale Paris: Strategy & Development of International Affairs
• EMLYON joins CPA LYON: the benchmark programme for training of Senior Management.
• Launch of the multi-campus and multi-district “Trait d'Union” project, aiming to give secondary school students from disadvantaged and difficult areas (ZEPs) the possibility of gaining access to diploma programmes that they perceive as being off-limits to them, due to their social, cultural and geographic positioning.

 2005

• Launch of two new Specialised Master's Degrees: Organisational and Auditing Consulting and Financial Information.
• EM LYON receives the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation, which comes on top of the Equis and AMBA accreditations already acquired.
• Creation of the “EMLYON China Club”: made up of EMLYON graduates living in China, former participants and partners, this club aims to foster exchange and cooperation between its members and to support the development of EMLYON's activities in China and Asia.
• A new students' association is founded - “Planet & Co” - acting in the interest of sustainable development and fair trade.

 2004

• Launch of EMLYON Magazine, which reports news, highlights the school's exchanges with its international partners and its pedagogical innovations; and features a special report in each issue.  
• EMLYON and INSA de Lyon open an office in Shanghai (China) with the objective of developing the integration of Chinese students in both schools; and building joint academic programmes in the sciences and management. 
• EMLYON launches a totally new concept of student guidance in France: the Career Centre. This system, based on EMLYON's virtual campus [em-lyon.net], consists in guiding students in the construction of their career and personal plans.

 2003

• Creation of the mandatory 2-month international seminar for all Bachelor students (1st year of the ESC programme) with the aim of preparing them for their 6-month mission abroad. 
• EMLYON was chosen as the HPAIR Club France (Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations). 
• EMLYON Entrepreneurs' Centre launches the Corporate Takeover Programme and joins the Maison de l'Entrepreneuriat (House of Entrepreneurship). 
• The EQUIS accreditation is renewed for 5 years by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). 
• Creation of the French Institute for Corporate Governance (IFGE), the objective of which is to build up a base of knowledge and experience and offer it to the stakeholders of corporate governance.

 2002

• Launch of the Master in European Business 
• Launch of the “Top Managers” Cycle 
• Organisation of the “International Days” by Opening, an EMLYON Students' Association

 2001

• The ESC programme is re-positioned to meet international standards with the creation of the Bachelor and the Master of Science in Management. 
• Inauguration of the “Lyonnaise de Banque” front office. 
• The MBA Programme makes the Financial Times' Top 100. 
• Co-organisation of the 17th EGOS colloquium in Lyon (the largest colloquium ever organised in France in Management and Organizational Sociology).

 2000

• Launch of a new strategic alliance concept, AEA ALLIANCE. 
• The AMBA accreditation is renewed for the Part-Time MBA programme.

 1998

• EMLYON receives EQUIS accreditation from the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Education). 
• Creation of a Latin America programme. A partnership agreement is signed with the University of Belgrano, in Argentina.

 1997

• Launch of the shared-time Cesma MBA
• Organisation of the first “G7 of Management”, an international colloquium bringing together business leaders and key personalities from the academic world of the world's seven most industrialised countries. 
• ESC Lyon celebrates its 125th year and changes names: Groupe ESC Lyon becomes EMLYON (Ecole de Management de Lyon)

 1995

• An Alumnet network is set up: collaboration with the career departments of many foreign business schools.

• Creation of the Chinese track

 1988

• Launch of a vast project to Europeanize the institution:
• Establishment of a new network covering all of Europe (60 partners worldwide) 
• Creation of a “quarter abroad” programme that fosters the mobility of students in Europe
• Extension of the dual degree to many European countries, including Russia (17 agreements)

• Creation of the Specialised Master's Degrees

• Launch of the first internal corporate Business School in France

• Creation of the Entrepreneurs programmes

• Creation of a Japanese track with intensive study of Japanese, placements in Japanese companies and study programmes at Waseda University. 
• Creation of EM LYON International: an association comprising major companies, the aim of which is to foster the training of students with an international profile.

• Creation of the “One Year Abroad” programme 

 1978

• Creation of the Dual Degree programme: a first network of partner schools is formed on the basis of this highly innovative concept: ESC Lyon, the University of Texas (Austin, USA), York University (Canada), University of Connecticut (USA), Aston University (UK) and Pace University (USA).
