EMLYON Business School enters the Financial Times

Markus Hasel
Assistant Professor in Leadership and Organisational Behavior

Prior to joining EMLYON Business School as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Markus C. Hasel worked in investment banking and as a junior script writer in multimedia. As a member of a management team at Aston University, Markus Hasel led and managed a team of twenty-eight staff.

Dr. Hasel has advised the UK MoD Defence Leadership and Management Centre on leadership issues, primarily on the impact and importance of trust in leaders. He has also advised clients in the private sector and is undertaking research in the area of leadership. Current projects include the impact leaders have on people’s motivation and trust in leadership and the organization and the way leaders can influence people’s beliefs in their own capabilities. Another strong focus of his current research and consultancy is the way employee and organizational performance can be increased through the right leadership behaviours.

Dr. Hasel is qualified in psychometric testing Level A & B with a focus on personality and skill development. He has applied and passed on his knowledge, amongst other means, giving lectures and seminars on effective work strategies. His formal education includes a PhD from Aston Business School and a BA (Hons) in Applied Psychology from Sussex University. Dr. Hasel has published and presented on leadership issues at international conferences. He also holds memberships in the British Psychology Society, Bund Deutscher Volks-und Betriebswirte, and the International Leadership Association.
