Effective use of a unique system
As soon as you arrive on the programme, we encourage you to commit to a structured process throughout the course to help you build up your employability.
The Bachelor year includes personal development workshops that help you to identify how you function, your strengths but also the points you need to develop. These workshops are based on sports or artistic activities; beyond the pleasure of the activity itself, they are an essential first stage in self-analysis This first year is also structured around an initial discovery of the job market in France and abroad, through conferences but also several tools provided within the framework of “Career Centre Online”: information capsules, standard CVs and application letters, etc.

The MSc in Management programme focuses on gradual validation and construction of each student’s professional project. Thinking about one’s professional project means taking a look at oneself with accessible opportunities and outlets available. Exercises are set up on the “Career Centre” platform to help assert your preferences, assets, skills but also weaknesses. In parallel, thanks to the professional round tables and online job reference base which lists more than 100 potential opportunities, students can discover the features of the different professions, their everyday content and the skills required. Workshops, organised in groups of 15 students, help you to compare what you have understood about yourself and what you have discovered about the various professions and help you to specify the framework of your first work experience placement.

Whether your placement confirms or calls into question certain ideas, the debriefing sessions run when you return help you take stock of your experiences to continue to construct your project. Completed by a series of more technical workshops co-run with companies (CV workshops, interview simulations, validation of professional projects, assessment centre), this system allows you to approach your first job from a solid stance and prepare you for subsequent moves.

 Increasing contacts with companies
EM LYON has set up a system to prepare your arrival on the job market, right from your first year. Besides round tables and “opportunities” lectures which are great opportunities for students to find out about and dialogue with companies, the "Career Days" organised on campus are dedicated to job and placement searches.

 Developing a personal network
The Alumni Association guarantees a permanent link between the alumni and the School. It also allows each alumnus to belong to a community and enjoy a powerful network of international contacts. It has established a close partnership with the careers departments of several European business schools.
