Our international approach Openness, respect and curiosity
|
The reality of any business can only be envisaged in an international perspective. Understanding other people and being able to adapt rapidly to other cultures and other ways of thinking, sometimes very different to ours, make up a key personal development issue for the future entrepreneurial managers we train.

The first stage of the internationalisation process takes place at the campus, finding concrete form in the teaching you receive at EM LYON:
> All teaching gives an international dimension to the learning process. Several electives have been set up to understand the cultural and economic reality of the various geographic zones as well as the issues for local companies and multinationals established in those regions.
> Participants on your programme come from more than 30 different countries. They work with you on case studies and projects, making this experience a mirror of what you experience in companies during your various placements.
> Your teachers also come from all over the world, permanent EM LYON professors for some, visiting professors from partner universities for others, to share with you another view of management in an elective.
> Language training in English and a second language aims to develop your written and spoken communication capacities, often an indispensable prerequisite to working internationally. Students also take several management courses in a foreign language.
The development of inter-cultural and international skills requires an immersion period. An immersion semester abroad is required as part of your MSc in Management. This period can be spent as part of a Master or equivalent exchange programme proposed by partner universities or a work experience course. Both experiences in two different zones is undoubtedly the best way to confirm your international aptitudes.
Some of you would like to commit to a more structured, longer process and study for a dual diploma programme with a partner university. This system is possible in MBA programmes (Connecticut, ESTE at San Sebastian), Master of Science (Strathclyde, Lancaster, CBS, Linköping, DEUSTO Bilbao, Finance Academy of Moscow, WHU-Mann Koblenz, Saarbrücken, Erlangen-Nurnberg). These programmes demand strong personal investment and preparation right from the start of the MSc in Management. They offer deeper insight into a specific discipline, a different look at learning methods and confirmation of a strong commitment with the country or geographic zone.
