Frederic Martel, age 38, from Switzerland, has been appointed head of the International MBA programme of EM LYON.

He holds an MBA from IMD Lausanne and a PhD from the University of Lausanne (HEC). His thesis explored the subject of venture capital financing.

At EM LYON Business School, his goal will be to pursue the development of the International MBA programme.

Mr. Martel joins the teaching staff of EM LYON as a Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance. His research focuses primarily on venture capital and hedge funds.
In addition to teaching at EM LYON, he has given courses over the years at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH/EPFL) in Lausanne and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Chicago and the Swedish Institute for Financial Research.
 
CFO and member of the executive committee of AXS Partners AG, a Swiss investment consulting firm, Frederic Martel has previously held the positions of CFO and associate manager for several venture capital companies, as well as working for Swiss banks.
