This 4-year, full-time programme, taught exclusively in English, will essentially cover entrepreneurial management, strategy and organizational dynamics. Distinguished by the comparative and international orientation of its research themes, the EM LYON PhD will also be to a very large extent anchored in the European tradition in social and political science. It will benefit from the advances made each year in its various research institutes and centres.
It is designed for students of all nationalities holding a Master of Sciences or Research Master‘s degree in a range of disciplines (management or social sciences, but also engineering science) and aiming at a career as a lecturer-researcher in management or in high-level consultancy.
Financed by scholarships awarded through the EM LYON Foundation, the birth of this programme, directed by David Courpasson, EM LYON's Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Sociology, is a strategic decision for the development of EM LYON and its international positioning. "The creation of a PhD programme," judges David Courpasson, "is an indicator of a mature faculty that is a creator of knowledge, and consequently has the skills to train future management lecturer-researchers. This decision confirms our standing in matters of research, a domain in which our output of work is widely recognized."
The opening of this PhD programme will also be a considerable asset in the recruitment of the best teaching staff, in an increasingly competitive market.
