Les Rencontres des Lumières is one of the first achievements of the Yin Yang Project, the strategic partnership between EMLYON Business School and CENTRALE LYON. This event is a scientific and multidisciplinary seminar dedicated to the sustainable development. It has been initiated and developed by the students of the two schools who have dedicated themselves to this noble cause.
The meaning of this two-day seminar is to contribute to raising awareness on the subject of sustainable development and to educating students in light of the present global crisis so that they can better prepare for the future. Today's students are the leaders and managers of tomorrow, and they will have to invent or apply innovating solutions, at the right moment.
Two remarkable personalities have been captivated by the enthusiasm and engagement of the students and decided to share their expertise during this event: Jean Jouzel, glaciologist, palaeoclimatologist, vice president of GIEC, gold medal of CNRS, and co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace; and Patrick Criqui, GIEC economist, Director of LEPII CNRS/UPMF in Grenoble, and co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace.
In the future, EMLYON Business School and CENTRALE LYON wish to associate to this project most of the schools and universities in Lyon so that it grows and becomes a major event dedicated to the sustainable development.
The Yin Yang Projet is the strategic partnership between EMLYON Business School and CENTRALE LYON on a single campus. Its mission is to educate future leaders and managers on the basis of a complementary skill-set of science and business.
