MARCO BOTTURA Italian, entered Sept. 2011. Marco holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Management and a M.Sc. "Summa cum Laude" in Business Management, both from University of Bologna. He also studied in Finland for one year as an exchange student and he had a brief experience in technology consulting. His research interests are connected with organization theory and Strategic Management, in particular regarding social network analysis of cultural markets, as the Italian wine industry. Beside Academia, he likes traveling, loves Jazz Music, playing basketball and is interested in classical liberal political philosophy and Austrian economics.

CARINE FARIAS French, entered Sept. 2010 Carine is interested in the area of Social Entrepreneurship, and holds some working experiences within social organizations in France and South America. She entered the PhD program just after having achieved a Master in Management at EMLYON, and completed her studies with a specialization in Development Studies at the Copenhagen Business School in 2008.

PABLO FERNANDEZ Argentinian, entered Sept. 2010 Pablo is from Argentina, he was born in Rosario (the city of Lio Messi and “El Che”) but he moved to Buenos Aires to study Economics and then Management. He worked for six years at IAE Business School (Universidad Austral) as a teaching and research assistant. He is interested in sociological perspectives in organization theory particularly in the structure and agency debate within institutionalism.

RAND GERGES-YAMMINE Lebanese, entered Sept. 2010 Rand is originally from Beirut, Lebanon but she has been living, studying and working in Germany, France, Spain, and Dubai. She believes that diversity bestows richness to both, knowledge and personality. Her research interests encompass post M&A integration management particularly across broad cultural contexts, weak signals detection, and innovation management. Rand is passionate to learn new things that add a special flavor of accomplishment and fulfillment to life. She also dearly appreciates arts – she has won several painting prizes and was a professional Ballet dancer for over ten years.

OKSANA GREBINEVYCH Ukrainian, entered Sept. 2009 Oksana holds a PhD in Social Philosophy from National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine. She spent some time doing research in Germany; worked in consultancy and as a business observer for mass-media. Now she changed her academic specialization to Management Science. Her current interest lies in the field of strategic management and entrepreneurship

STEFANOS KALOGIROU Greek, entered Sept. 2009 Stefanos is 36 years old, married and father of a naughty five-year old girl... He holds a 4-year Bachelor in Business Administration with a specialization in OB and HRM and a 2-year Executive MSc in HRM. Before joining the PhD program he held nanagerial roles for about 10 years in various industries mostly in HRM. His research interests lie within Organizational Psychology/Behavior and Strategic HRM. Specifically he is studying multi-level psycho-cognitive homogeneity in organizational settings in relation to individual and organizational development.

MICHAEL KOCH German, entered Sept. 2009 Michael has a degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He held consulting appointments in Frankfurt and Munich before joining the PhD program. His research interests include HRM in Family Firms, HRM and Entrepreneurship, Performance Management and Compensation. His methodological interests are in Structural Equation Modeling and Multilevel Modeling.

VANESSA MONTIES French, entered 2009 After a Master's degree in English in France, Vanessa spent 2 years in Vancouver, Canada, where she got a Master's degree in French literature from UBC before cruising down to California where she completed a TESOL Certificate at UC San Diego. She then went back to France where she taught foreign languages and worked for 5 years as an administrative coordinator of the academic exchange program at EMLYON Business School. She is a mom of two boys and used to play volleyball in competition. Her research interests are in entrepreneurship, OB, and decision-making in time-constrained environments.

SARAH PARK American, entered Sept. 2009 Sarak Park received her undergraduate degree from UCLA, master's from the University of Chicago, and her MBA from University of Notre Dame. At University of Notre Dame, she was awarded and recognized as a Kenneth R. Meyer Scholar for demonstrating high potential in global investment management. She held various finance positions in the United States before joining the Ph.D. program at EMLYON Business School. Her paper on merger of equals was nominated for SMS Best Conference Paper for Practical Implications in 2010. Her research interests includ entrepreneuship and corporate strategy. DUNCAN PELLY American, entered Sept. 2011 Duncan graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a triple major in international relations, French and German. He was a four year varsity letter winner and the President of his fraternity. After graduation, he served in the United States Army in both Korea and Iraq as a Brigade Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Brigate Adjudant. By the end of his tenure in the military, he attained the rank of Captain, a bronze star. His research interests include methods to augment competitiveness of developped countries. When not in class, you will most likely find Duncan in the Library or the weight room.

TAPIWA SEREMANI Zimbabwean, entered Sept. 2011. Tapiwa has lived, worked and studied in Germany and India. He holds a master's degree in International food Business and Consumer Studies from the University of Kassel in Germany. His research interests lie in internationalization and high impact entrepreneurial growth strategies in emerging markets. Tapiwa enjoys football and recently became an Olympique Lyonnais supporter !

CHITTIMA SILBERZAHN Thai, entered Sept. 2010 Prior to joining the doctoral program in management, Chittima worked as a research associate at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. She was previously Division Manager at Kasikorn Bank in Thailand where she supervised strategic project management. She holds an MBA from the International University of Japan. Her interest lies in strategy in financial services firms.

TAO WANG Chinese, entered Sep. 2010 Studied and worked in China and Germany, Tao is interested in economic sociology, macro-organizational theory, and business and economic history. Besides research interests in integrative thinking and creative industries, he is a passionate book collector, a freelance journalist and an advocate of Free Culture Movement.

FREDERIK WITTE German, entered Sept. 2009 Frédérik's research area is in Judgement and Decision Making (JDM) and Entrepreneurship Theory. WENYAO ZHAO Chinese, entered Sept. 2011. Wenyao holds master's degrees in Business Management (with Magma cum laude dinstinction) and in Applied English Linguistics. He worked as a college teacher, business trainer and interpreter. His research interests include strategies for international business and organization behovior. Outside academia, Wenyao has an avid interest in French and Japanese cultures that includes reading Molière and other works of the théâtre français, and learning how to write Waka poetry. |

MOHIT ANAND Indian, entered Sept. 2007 Mohit hails from New Delhi (India). His research focuses on the impact of international joint ventures on corporate innovation in emerging markets. He is currently working on case studies and exploratory interviews to strengthen his theoretical foundation. He presented his initial work at Imperial college (London) and IIM (Ahmedabad). His experience at EMLYON since Sept. 2007 has been truly enriching and satisfying. Besides finding research gaps, Mohit loves traveling, indology and is also the founder of Delhi Star Gazing club.

JANICE BYRNE Irish, entered Sept. 2007 Janice hails from Dublin but has been living in Lyon since April 2006. Her current research involves a hopskotch of management education, entrepreneurship and creativity (innovation). Her research interests sprung from her passion for education, experience in adult education and curiousity in all things entrepreneurial! She loves Lyon for its pretty streets, night lights and great restaurants...

GIOVANY CAJAIBA-SANTANA Brazilian, entered Sept. 2007 33 year old, married, father of one lovely girl. His research arena is entrepreneurship, specifically social entrepreneurship and social innovation. He struggles with the analysis of qualitative data and institutional and actor network theories in order to come up with a model to guide future research in the those contexts. MATHIEU-CLAUDE CHABOUD French, entered Sept. 2008 Prior to joining the doctoral program in Management, Mathieu-Claude worked in various companies at international levels and has been a consultant and lecturer for the last five years. His research interests include mergers and acquisitions, ethics, and cross-cultural management.

CAROLINE COULOMBE Canadian, entered Sept. 2007, Coming from Montréal, Caroline is jointly enrolled at HEC Montréal and EMLYON Business School. She started in January 2005 but had two kids meanwhile. Caroline's dissertation is on business ethics. She is particularly interested by the pluralist aspect of ethical frameworks that can be found in organizations. She is comparing the frameworks used in organizations in France and Canada |

ASMA FATTOUM Tunisian, entered Sept. 2008 Asma already holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Lyon, but she decided to switch to management. Her main research interests include corporate governance, IPO valuation and the management of innovation.

ALAN JOHNSON Irish, entered Sept. 2006, on the job market Alan's research area is in organizational behavior. In his dissertation, he studies workgroup interaction and and its consequences for work motivation and various interim outcomes. To do so, he analyzes debate and conflict longitudinally and at multiple levels of analysis. He is famous for teasing people, running complicated statistical models, and organizing pubs tours in downtown Lyon.

SEONG-YOUNG KIM Korean, entered Sept. 2008 After a Bachelor in management in SungKyunKwan University in Seoul and 7 years of professional experience in international trading, he completed a Master in International Management in Toulouse University' business school (IAE) in France. His research area is in strategic management and organizational behavior.

RASMI KOKASH Syrian, entered Sept 2008 Passionate to cultural diversity, Rasmi comes from Damascus, Syria. Spearheaded with a dedication to contribute to the ongoing and profound change of global healthcare, Rasmi has entered a metamorphic process and is keen to focus on institutional behaviors and their sense making processes. A social entrepreneur, never gets tired to seek and be involved in activities of cultural value. Loves to jog, swim and fly.

NARJISSE LASSAS-CLERC Moroccan/French, entered Sept. 2006, Narjisse was born and grew up in Casablanca. She has been part-time lecturer and research assistant since september 2004 and joined the PhD Program in September 2006. Her dissertation focuses on entrepreneurship education initiatives and their effects on individuals in terms of learning and motivational outcomes. Her research is mainly in entrepreneurship, even though educational psychology and OB are her closest areas of interest. Narjisse has interest in further training to coaching and personal development techniques. Her main outside interests are travel, reading, walking, cooking and spending time with her family, friends (and dogs!). She has recently been hired by HEG Geneva (Switzerland).

JIE (JAY) XIONG Chinese, transfered in 2010 Jie (called Jay around here) holds a degree of Bachelor of Engineering from Huazhong University of Science of Technology, China. He entered the management field with an Erasmus Mundus International Master in Industrial Management. He joined EMLYON in May 2010 after a MPhil from Bocconi University, Italy. His current research interests are in corporate strategy, especially M&A in high tech sector and innovation in emerging countries. |

OLGA BRUYAKA Ukrainian, graduated in June 2008. Olga was the very first student to graduate from our PhD program. In her dissertation, she studied rent generation and rent appropriation within French biotech firms. Her research has appeared in the Strategic Management Journal. She was hired in 2008 as an Assistant Professor at VirginiaTech (USA). |

GREGOIRE CROIDIEU French, graduated in December 2009. Grégoire's research area is in Organization and Management Theory. In his dissertation, he studies institutional change and persistence at multiple levels of analysis. Both qualitative and quantitative methods are mixed to analyze conflicts between institutional logics at a global level of analysis, diffusion of innovations at a regional level, and compliance and resistance to change at an organizational level. The empirical setting is the wine industry, a decision he keeps savouring. After a 6-month post-doc at Stanford University, Grégoire joined Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) as an Assistant Professor. |

CHRISTELLE TORNIKOSKI French, graduated in June 2011, Christelle was born in France. She spent many years abroad, especially in Sweden and Finland before coming back to France in 2007. Her research area is IHRM. She was jointly enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of Vaasa, Finland. Her research focuses on how expatriates perceive their compensation package (total rewards) and how it impacts on their relationship with their employer (psychological contract). For that purpose, she is analyzing quantitative data from 820 Finnish expatriates. She is also interested in international careers and ethics. Christelle has now joined Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) as an Assistant Professor.
