Avant de rejoindre emlyon business school, Lynn appartenait à l'équipe technique du laboratoire de recherche AT&T Labs Research de 1995 à 1998. Elle a aussi occupé le poste de Concepteur d'interfaces utilisateurs senior dans différentes entreprises telles que Axance.com, Adobe et Autodesk et a exercé en qualité de consultante pour des projets de visualisation et d'analyse de données.
Lynn a une renommée internationale auprès des entreprises spécialisées dans le data management et compte parmi les acteurs clés des disciplines de l'exploration de données et de data science.
