Michael Antioco, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Marketing at EMLYON Business School since September 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Science from the IAG Louvain School of Management at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). As part of this curriculum he studied International Business at Sophia University in Tokyo (Japan). In December 2006, Michael Antioco received his Ph.D. in Marketing & Innovation Studies from the Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands). During his dissertation, he also spent a semester at Purdue University (USA) as a visiting researcher.
His main research interests are new product development, decision-making, and the marketing of luxury products. His work is being published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Advertising Research, among others. He serves on the editorial review board of Industrial Marketing Management and reviews for the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. For his research, he has collaborated with firms such as ING, Caterpillar, Philips, and Printemps.
Over the years, he has also supervised and worked on several projects related to advertising, product line extensions, sales force adoption, and pricing in the luxury industry.
