Prof. Yeming (Yale) Gong studies logistics management, warehouse management, revenue management, stochastic modelling, and optimization. He published a book “Stochastic Modelling and Analysis of Warehouse Operations”, 31 articles in journals including Production and Operations Management, IIE Transactions and International Journal of Production Economics,  3 book chapters in publishers including Springer, and 6 papers in referred conference proceedings like IEEE conference proceeding. He has attended INFORMS, IIE, POMS, EURO, IMHRC conferences, and  is a member of IIE and INFORMS.

He earned a PhD  in Management  from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, the Netherlands and was a Post-Doctoral Researcher  in the University of Chicago. He was the winner of “the National Award for Outstanding Overseas Students” , a prestigious national award issued by China Government. Prof. Gong  received 2009 the Best Paper Award in design and manufacturing from IIE, the most influential academic association of  management engineering in USA.

Prof.  Gong  has provided management consulting service for world-class projects like Yangtze Three Gorges Project , government and non-profit organizations like Ministry of Finance, P. R. China ,  large-scale manufacturing companies like Dongfeng Motor  and several leading logistics companies like Egemin Belgium . Prof. Gong is Chairman of Academic Committee  for Foremost, an online retailer in healthcare and sport products, and he designed the whole logistics system, including an e-commerce distribution center and a call center. These experiences provide abundant teaching materials and practical knowledge to his students.

He is teaching 7 Master-level courses including  Logistics Management, Warehouse Management, Operaions Strategy, Revenue Management, Service Operations Management, Supply Chain Management in Asia and Global Operations Strategy in EM LYON Business School. He has advised over 10 Master students and is advising a PhD student.
