Frédéric Martel is holding an MBA from IMD Lausanne and a PhD from the University of Lausanne (HEC), his thesis explored the subject of venture capital financing. Professor in Entrepreneurial Finance, his research focuses primarily on venture capital and hedge funds.
In addition to teaching at EM LYON, he has given courses over the years at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH/EPFL) in Lausanne and the University of Bozen-Bolzano. He also lectured at HEC Lausanne, the University of Chicago, and the Swedish Institute for Financial Research.
He is on the board of a number of international companies both in France and in Switzerland.
