Yacine Rekik is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management & Supply Chain Management at EMLYON Business School. Yacine gained his PhD degree in Industrial Engineering at The Ecole Centrale de Paris in 2006. For his PhD, he analyzed the impact of the RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology in improving performances of inventory systems subject to inaccuracies. Before coming to EM Lyon, he occupied a Research Associate position at the Distributed Information & Automation Lab of the University of Cambridge (UK). The starting point of his research is a real world observation: more and more companies are looking for other identi?cation systems than the bar code technology enabling a more accurate tracking of products in supply chains. The purpose of his research project is to develop a set of models that provide qualitative and quantitative insights on the benefits of the RFID technology on the performance of supply chains in terms of cost reduction and/or improvement of service levels. Yacine regularly publishes articles in peered academic reviews such as the International Journal of Production Economics and Operations Research Spectrum.
