As of January 2021, emlyon business school is expanding its program range of Masters of Science with a new program, focused on security and defense related issues in a global world. The MSc in Cybersecurity & Defense Management, targeting French and International students, aims at addressing worldwide complex issues and managing emerging threats.

A Master's degree to address the weaknesses of a global world

In our digital world where frontiers are no longer, the current issues raised by cyber-security and defense are manifold:

  • The out surge of connected objects and data is increasing the risks of cyber-attacks and their surface;
  • Political, economic and social inequalities tend to generate extreme violence which, today, spread from one continent to another via social media;
  • Terrorist threats no longer come from one clearly identified territory, but rather take the shape of one-shot virtual attacks, more diffused and launched on a more regular basis.
  • Unbalanced world powers are persisting and fuel tensions and conflicts preventing any agreement on a common defense policy.
This multidisciplinary MSc in Cybersecurity and Defense Management, perfectly illustrates the mission of emlyon business school: training informed and responsible citizens.

Such elements of context show strong evidence of some major risks. It is essential that we provide students with solid and multidisciplinary competences to understand, to be ready for and successfully address such local, national and global vulnerable areas.

Designed using innovative pedagogy

Governments, private or public organizations, companies from all sectors are all affected by these geopolitical, technological, strategic and ethnic issues. To answer such multiple needs in security and defense, the Msc in Cybersecurity & Defense Management was designed based on a multi-dimensional and transverse approach.

This Master's Degree is open to students with a great variety of academic backgrounds. While mixing their knowledge in political science, engineering technics, business development or the Law, they are able to develop a global vision of issues and acquire hybridcompetences to address them.
